Opt out of the MS-PINPOINT study

MS-PINPOINT is a research study that looks at information the NHS already holds about people with multiple sclerosis (MS) — such as hospital records and MRI scans. We use it to understand how MS changes over time and to help doctors choose the right treatment for each person sooner.

Before any information is used for research, details that could identify you — your name, NHS number, date of birth and address — are removed inside the hospital. Nobody in the research team can tell who you are, and we never publish anything about individual patients.

Everyone treated at a participating hospital is included by default. If you would rather your information was not used, you can ask us to leave it out. You do not need to give a reason, and opting out will not affect your care or your treatment in any way.

Opting out here applies only to the MS-PINPOINT study. It is separate from the NHS National Data Opt-Out, which covers NHS research more widely.
