Opt out of the MS-PINPOINT study
MS-PINPOINT is a research study that looks at information the NHS already holds about people with multiple sclerosis (MS) — such as hospital records and MRI scans. We use it to understand how MS changes over time and to help doctors choose the right treatment for each person sooner.
What happens to your information
Before any information is used for research, details that could identify you — your name, NHS number, date of birth and address — are removed inside the hospital. The research works only with fully anonymised data: it is impossible for anyone, including the research team, to link it back to an individual patient. We never publish anything about individual patients.
Everyone treated at a participating hospital is included by default. If you would rather your information was not used, you can ask us to leave it out. You do not need to give a reason, and opting out will not affect your care or your treatment in any way.

MS-PINPOINT applies the NHS National Data Opt-Out: if you have already opted out through your GP practice or nhs.uk, your records are excluded before any data reaches the study — you do not need to do anything more.
The form below is an additional, study-specific opt-out. Use it if you have not registered a national opt-out but would still rather MS-PINPOINT specifically did not use your information.
