The team
MS-PINPOINT is a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians working together to develop digital tools to better understand and treat multiple sclerosis. Methods questions and clinical questions get asked at the same table.
The data
The group works on the messy scans hospitals actually collect, and on making the MRI archives already sitting in NHS systems usable for research. It is harder than a curated dataset, and it is what makes a method usable in a clinic.
The output
MindGlide, the group's deep-learning tool for measuring lesion burden and regional brain volumes, is open source and published in Nature Communications. Tools here ship as public code alongside the paper.
The place
The group sits in the Queen Square Multiple Sclerosis Centre at UCL, working on computational tools for multiple sclerosis.
