Privacy and cookies
This site is deliberately quiet: no advertising, no tracking, and no cookies. It measures anonymous page-speed data, described below. This page lists everything it stores in your browser, and points to how the study itself handles patient data.
Measuring page speed
We measure how quickly pages load, using Vercel Speed Insights. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Each measurement records the page address, your browser, device type, operating system, connection speed and country, along with timing figures such as how long the main content took to appear.
There is no identifier in any of that, and nothing that can connect one page view to the next. It cannot recognise you, build a profile, or follow you around the web — which is why it needs no consent and no banner. We use it for one thing: finding the pages that are slow, particularly on phones and poor connections.
Embedded videos
Video embeds on this site are click-to-play: nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play on a video. When you do, the player loads from YouTube's youtube-nocookie.com privacy-enhanced domain. Google may still set cookies of its own once a video is playing — that is a choice you make by pressing play, not one made for you by visiting a page.
Local in-browser brain segmentation
The MindGlide browser app at mindglide.ms-pinpoint.com is a separate static app. It processes MRI files and displays results on your device. MRI contents, filenames, headers, segmentations and regional volumes stay local and are never sent to us or to a third party.
It downloads the public model and image-processing libraries before you add a scan. It uses no cookies, analytics, accounts or persistent scan storage. The app does not include this website's Speed Insights measurement. Clear and reset stops processing and releases the app's scan buffers; downloads are saved only when you request them.
Opening either website still makes ordinary requests to Vercel, our hosting provider. Those requests expose connection metadata such as IP address, browser request headers, public page or asset URL and request time for delivery and security. That metadata is separate from MRI data, which stays local in the segmentation app. Read the browser app's full privacy and cookies notice before using it.
The study's data, not the website's
The research itself never touches this website: hospital records and MRI scans are anonymised inside the hospitals, and the study only works with fully anonymised data that is impossible for anyone — including the research team — to link back to an individual patient. How that works, and how to opt out, is explained at Opt out of the MS-PINPOINT study. If you use the opt-out form, the details you submit are encrypted and used only to action your request.
